Bishop Gerard Frey, bishop emeritus of the Diocese Lafayette died today after a lengthy illness.  Bishop Frey was born in 1914 in New Orleans, LA.  In 1938 he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of New Orleans where he served as a priest along with his brother, Msgr. Something’s definitely up in Cincinatti, OH.  Today Auxiliary Bishop Carl K. Moeddel resigned.  The reason I wonder about this is because he’s only 69, a good 6 years before the mandatory retirement age.  Here’s to hoping Rocco gives us the scoop on what’s going on!
