Consummatum Est
Posted March 31, 2005 , By Joshua LeBlanc
At 10:00 am Terri Schiavo breathed her last. Terri’s blood be upon those judges who refused to intervene and upon Terri’s Pilate, Jeb Bush, who washed himself of Terri. May God have mercy upon us all. This sin will not go unpunished and I know we will all pay dearly for allowing a travesty like this to happen.

Excuse me but where in the Bible does it mention keeping people alive artificially? Although she did not require an artificial respirator she did require a feeding tube. In my humble opinion God was calling Terri home 15 years ago when all her problems began and modern medicine interfered with His calling. No blood is on the nation’s hands because this was the work of Satan. Instead of this country fighting within itself we should be rejoicing that Terri is finally at peace and at home with our Heavenly Father. People should be ashamed of themselves for all the controversy they are causing. With all the real tradgedy in this world–tsunamis, earthquakes, WAR, we should be concentrating on spreading the word of God to all non-believers instead of fighting each other. May God help us all remember that He is the only decision maker (not the courts) and if He calls His children home then we should obey Him. Rejoice for Terri and pray for her parents to overcome their grief. God Bless.

Debbie, apparently you do not recall “I was hungry and you gave me no food..I was thirsty and gave you no drink.” At what point did food and water become artificial means of living?

So many of you are ready to bastardize the scriptures to defend your own point of view. The scripture above was not refering to someone that needed to be force fed to enable their life to continue - and you know that. If you really want to know what the Lord wanted for Terri - ask HIM. ” If any of you lack wisdom… let him ask of God..”

I assume we will likewise condemn those bishops and priests who allow the pope to die in his apartment rather than force him to a hospital and keep him alive for as long as possible?

There is a HUGE difference between starving someone to death and letting someone die gracefully. In the case of the Pope, there is substantial evidence that he asked not to be put in a hospital. With Terri, there is only speculation. The pope, God rest his soul, died because his heart and kidneys failed because of an infection and because he was 84 years old. Terri however was in good health. Her heart and all of her other organs worked. Her only crime was that she could not swallow. And even that has been debated! How horrible to sentence someone to death just because they can’t feed themself!
